Fourth-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych has bundled former Australian Open finalist Marcos Baghdatis out of the Brisbane International.

The world number 20 needed little over an hour to thrash the Cypriot 6-0 6-1 at Pat Rafter Arena and move into the quarterfinals.

Baghdatis was on the back foot from the opening game as Berdych put on an exhibition for the Pat Rafter Arena crowd.

Berdych will face eighth-seeded Thomaz Bellucci of Brasil who ended Harel Levy’s tournament in three sets, 6-4 4-6 6-4.

Earlier, comeback queen Justine Henin met unexpected resistance from Kazakhstan qualifier Sesil Karatantcheva before winning 6-4 6-3 to also move into the final eight.

The 27 year old set up a quarterfinal showdown with seventh-seeded Hungarian Melinda Czink tomorrow.

Wow. I didn't watch this match but I was shocked when I read that Baghdatis only managed to win one game! Something must have been wrong with him. Oh well.. .
    Go Berdych! =)

Bellucci is 1-1 against Berdych in the head to head. The last one Berdych won at home, 7-5 on the third. It will be an amazing match, I hope Bellucci reach the semis to be seeded at the AO.

will be a very difficult match for Thomaz, but we are in the crowd because the Berdych is very irregular! let's SID, the semi-final hopes. Go Go Bellucci

I was there… Berdych was playing incredibly 'crisp' (er, can't think of a good word, but very clean shots)… really showed a whole 'nother level, overpowered him completely and Baghdatis just couldn't even get 'into' the match or play his strategy if he had one! Was a bit disappointing/surprising… I thought it'd be a lot closer…
