Friday’s day session

Victories for Henin, Clijsters and Berdych on Friday’s day session at Brisbane International 2010.

First match of the day saw Justin Henin beat Ana Ivanovic to make it four out of four so far since her comeback from retirement. Her opponent will be no other than fellow returning Belgian Kim Clisters, a straight-sets winner over Germany’s Andrea Petkovic.

On the men’s side, Tomas Berdych defeated Brazil’s Thomaz Bellucci in a thrilling three-set match, which went all the way to the last-set tiebreak.

I am totally exhausted after such a great day of tennis ... & I was only watching as a fan!!!

Disappointment today for Ana, but many congratulations to Justine on her amazing comeback and to reach the final in her first tournament. Kim is an Aussie favourite & sets the scene for a wonderful ladies final tomorrow in a Belgian show down!!

Roddick v Gasquet was a show of power hitting & touch but with much finese. It was a shame that Richard could not take the second set to just prolong the enthralling tennis for all the fans, but Andy was just too powerful with his entire game today. He was sharp and really 'on the ball' (excuse the pun!)

Bellucci v Berdych was a terrific match and was won by ''Big Bird' Berdych who just rallied in a calmer and more experienced way. I wonder if he will be able to keep that compose when he meets Roddick tomorrow?!

Men's doubles is also one of my favourites & the paring of Dlouhy/Paes are always a joy to watch as they beat the European pair in a third set tie breaker. I am very much looking forward to seeing the Americans Blake/Roddick against the French pairing of Chardy/Gicquel on Saturday. Marc Gicquel will undoubtedly throw everything at this match, as he is defending his doubles crown from last years win with the injured Tsonga.

Super Saturday ... Smashing Sunday ...BRING IT ON!!! I can't wait...
