9 January 2009, by Brisbane International Tennis

Todd Woodbridge, one half of the legendary doubles duo ‘The Woodies’, will team up with American Vania King and take on rising Serb Ilia Bozaljac and Mervana Jugic-Salkic at Pat Rafter Arena tonight in a classic doubles exhibition match.

Due to a lower back injury to Shuai Peng, tonight’s doubles match between Mervana Jugic-Salkic/Shuai Peng (BIH/CHN) and Anna-Lena Groenefeld/Vania King (GER/USA) has been cancelled. Groenefeld and King have now advanced to the women’s doubles final in a walkover.

During his much celebrated career, Woodbridge amassed 83 doubles titles, including 22 Grand Slams. Woodbridge will partner American Vania King, who has won six WTA Tour doubles titles and is currently ranked No.34 in the doubles rankings.

On the other side of the net will be Serbian Ilia Bozoljac and Mervana Jugic-Salkic. Jugic-Salkic has won two doubles titles.

The exhibition match promises to be a highly entertaining affair and is a great chance for fans to see one of the best doubles players in history mix it with some of today’s classy doubles exponents.
