Q: What was your off-season highlight?

A: My partner cramping on the first day of practice for sure.

Q: What’s on your iPod right now?

A: I actually have my songs on the iPhone, but everything from pop rock, some hip hop, some rap, so all kinds of music for different moods – different weather, different music.

Q: What was the last movie you watched?

A: OK, the other day again on TV The Fellowship of the Ring from Lord of the Rings, but in the cinema I forgot.

Q: Do you have any superstitions?

A: I would call them more routines. And of course, like every player just playing with the balls when I’m playing and getting the towel and things like that, but I’m not too crazy about them.

Q: If you could borrow a shot from another player, what would it be?

A: It would be, I would say, maybe Pat Rafter’s volleys.

Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?

A: To fly. I think you see the world differently from up there.

Q: What’s your ideal date night?

A: Um … I’m going to skip that [laughs].

Q: What’s in your tennis bag apart from your racquets?

A: Just the usual tennis stuff, grips, headbands, wristbands, shoes, strings, shirts, shorts – just the usual boring stuff.

Q: If you could trade places with anybody for one day, who would it be and why?

A: I don’t know, maybe some movie star just to feel how is that to be in some movie, to feel that like some action movie. Let’s say Denzel Washington … or Will Smith let’s go with him.

Q: What’s your goal for 2014?

A: The goal is of course to stay healthy, to be happy and to have good success on the tour. I think with all of that it would be a nice year.
